Note: Nicoletti-Flater Associates realizes that departments sometimes have concerns regarding the potential for conflict of roles when one agency handles both counseling and fitness-for-duty cases. Therefore, staff members do not conduct fitness-for-duty evaluations and counseling with the same person. In addition, due to the purpose of these reports, the person undergoing an evaluation must sign a confidentiality waiver.

Note: Confidentiality plays a significant role in the actual and potential use of counseling services. With Nicoletti-Flater, client confidence and trust are continually fostered. Client confidentiality at Nicoletti-Flater is protected according to the requirements of law and by the ethical guidelines of psychology. Information shared with Nicoletti-Flater staff will not be disclosed to another person without prior written consent unless danger to self or others is imminent, as is the case when someone presents a potential liability to the department. The exceptions to this confidentiality are for pre-employment screening and fitness-for-duty evaluations, whereupon the client signs a waiver of confidentiality, allowing Nicoletti-Flater staff to share the results with the department.
