
Violence motives, perpetrator characteristics, victims, and effects are diverse, and these features of violence mutate like a virus when exposed to different hosting environments. For example, we have witnessed the avenger-shooting form of violence mutate from workplace forms to schools, and more recently to colleges.
We have seen domestic violence cross the line from home to work. In order to effectively prevent and intervene with various forms of violence, we look closely at how violence patterns evolved, and at which settings may be the most vulnerable.
